In the meantime, here are some more pages out of my europe sketchbook. These are from the same trip as the previous sketchbook post, however these were done when I was in Portugal.
This was one of a number of sketches I did on this trip from memory of people I crossed paths with. This man was always hanging out by our hotel, cigarette in mouth, watching people walk by. He had a great face. I wish I had my oil paints with me, because I would have loved to have painted him. His face was so wrinkled and weather beaten.Praia da Mira
While spending time in Praia da Mira, I had horrible case of food poisoning. I remember very little about these dark times, except for the part of me lying in my hotel room in the fetal position, waiting to die. Luckily on my last day there I felt good enough to sit outside on the beach and make this drawing.
