Ink and gouache on paper (17.5 x 20 in.)
I just completed this painting for an upcoming charity auction. They have not announced the event publicly, so I am not allowed to give any specifics on it yet. As soon as the event is announced, I will be sure to share more information.I hope you like it.

What do you use to fix the gouche to prevent future color disruption?

As for your question Adam, I don't use any type of fixative with gouache. Gouache can be somewhat difficult to handle because the paint can be disturbed so easily.
A couple of things i try to do when layering gouache are use soft kolinsky sable brushes (they're expensive but worth it), and I try to limit the amount of brushwork as much as possible. The more you scrub the paint around with your brushes, the more likely you are to lift up something that you wanted to keep. It is also important to let areas dry completely if you want to put a glaze over a gouache painting.
